FOSTER AN ANIMAL
The foster program is very important in getting the animals prepared for their forever homes so they are well adjusted and the transition goes smoothly.
We need more people willing to open up their homes, and their hearts, to assist give dogs or cats searching for a chance in life.
Foster an animal
We rely on fosterers to provide temporary homes for the animals in our care. Fostering an animal can help them recover from neglect, abuse, illness or injury – taking the first steps towards finding a new, loving forever home.
Fostering can provide the unique, individualised attention that some animals require before they’re ready for adoption. Fostering has a direct, positive impact on the animal and is a hugely rewarding experience for those who choose to become foster carers.
Some animals simply need an attentive foster carer to help socialize them so they’ll become more confident and trusting. These animals recover and develop much more successfully when they are fostered in a home environment until they are ready to be permanently rehomed. Fostering periods generally range from two weeks to six months.
